Explorers Club is not only a collection of adventurous places to stay in the Western Cape Region of South Africa, but a hive of information for those who are adventurous and are interested in exploration in all its guises. We love to share experiences and finding ‘one of a kind’ places off the beaten track. If you can’t visit these places we hope you will live vicariously through other wanderers’ trails. Please feel free to contribute to the glorious world of exploring. We would be very happy for anyone to send us something interesting, compelling and relevant to the theme of Exploration. It doesn’t have to be about snorkelling the length of the Amazon or hopping around the world on one-leg or eating the preserved body of a mammoth. Everyone loves exploring and would love to share your experiences of doing something different or finding something unique ,wherever it might be. We are looking for short stories of around 200 words and with 3 to 6 photos that we can add to the growing pages. Look forward to hearing from you. Jo Sinfield

hello you,
how lovely to recieve a surprise email – and a chance to feel a little jealous about the next adventure. Just had Graham Howe here yesterday which meant a lot of talk about “the old country” which has left me a little homesick.
Have a ball and keep me updated!
cheers

Hi
We just love reading all your comments and articles. We are planning a road trip from Durban to Kalahari Gemsbok, on to Paternoster and then down to Cape Town. Do you have any info for us.
Regards
Andy
Hi Andy,
Thanks for the note and compliments! Not sure I can be much help on your Durban to Kalahari Gemsbok route but have a look for places to stay on the http://www.greenwoodguides.com website. On your route from Kalahari to CT I would recommend Papkuilsfontein near Nieuwoudville, Kersefontein, near Hopefield both in the guide.
From CT back to Durban – Lord Milner hotel in Matjiesfontein on N1 (a splendid colonial relic if you don’t know it), Cactus Blue in Prince Albert, the Retreat at Groenfontein then through Baviaanskloof to Plett. Very envious of your expedition, mine is over for this year sadly. Let me know how your trip goes and will happily put it up on the blog!
Happy travels.
Jo
